Pienza

Pienza, only 55km, is a small town not far from Siena which is a rare example of splendid Renaissance town planning. It’s been either called ‘the ideal city’ or ‘the utopian city’ as it represents the Renaissance model of ideal life and government, that is a town where you could live and work in peace.

It is located in the beautiful Val d’Orcia and its position makes it clear how important the relationship between man and nature was during the Renaissance.
